2013 Paras Vineyard Grenache

In 2013, fortune fell in our lap when we received a phone call from the viticulturist for this great site, whose wines we had admired for many years. He was looking for someone to take it to the next level with these 4 blocks of mature vine Grenache planted in mountain sandstone, and we jumped at the chance. Rarer than rare in the Napa Valley, let alone Mt Veeder! Aromas of lavender, strawberry jam, raspberry pie, white pepper and hot sand lead to a full, rich palate with dense flavors and huge mountain structure. This wine will unfold for many years, and we believe, become something as singular and special as the place from which it comes.

Reviews
The 2013 Grenache, from Paras Vineyard on Mt. Veeder, is deep, plush and bursting at the seams with intense red fleshed fruit. Succulent and beautifully layered, the Grenache oozes character. A hint of French oak shapes the finish in a racy, voluptuous Grenache that is an absolute joy to taste today.
