Mike's career in wine began as a sommelier in Colorado Springs, CO, at the award-winning restaurant Primitivo, where he developed his passion for wine and his palate. Winemaking was the seemingly obvious next step; and after spending several months exploring the wine country of Spain and France, he made his way to Napa Valley. Mike learned his way around the cellar at Behrens & Hitchcock Winery for several years, before being hired as the Winemaker for Realm Cellars in 2002.
In addition to Relic, his current winemaking projects include D.R. Stephens Estate, Husic Family Vineyards, and Sarocka Estate. If Mike is not in the vineyard or winery, you may find him engaged in one of his other passions – cooking or playing guitar.
Growing up in a family of wine enthusiasts, particularly fostered by her great uncle, Schatzi moved to the Napa Valley in the fall of 1999. She quickly found her way to Behrens & Hitchcock Winery where she learned the business-side of the wine industry. In addition to managing Relic, she continues to serve as the Business Manager for Behrens Family Winery.
Annette came to the Napa Valley in 2008 to start a career in the wine world. After six years as a singer/songwriter in Los Angeles, as well as working in the restaurant industry, she decided to re-locate herself to Northern California where her passion for wine would be realized and musical inspiration could thus follow. For two years she worked as the Hospitality Director at O’Shaughnessy Winery on Howell Mountain, eventually finding her way to Relic.
Annette provides a wealth of insight and experience and a warm welcome to all visitors. If you are in the Napa Valley and would like to make an appointment to taste through our wines, Annette can be reached at 707.484.9380 or at email@example.com
David, our Assistant Winemaker, came to Relic via Oregon State University where he studied Enology and Viticulture. His skilled hands and deep passion for Pinot Noir and Rhone varietals will be great assets for Relic Wine Cellars as we settle into our new winery.
