Supermoon has become the shining star (or moon?) for those that like their Chardonnay more mineral-tinged and brightly aromatic, on a leaner, more refreshing frame. As the vines age and these root systems develop, we are seeing the true colors come through, and these qualities continue to make this wine beautifully singular. The 2019 growing season was wonderfully moderate and sunny in Sonoma Coast, and the vines enjoyed the year without much stress. Visually, the wine has a lovely clarity to it with flashes of light green and yellow. The nose flaunts aromatics of acacia, key lime, lemon curd, desert sage, flint and pink flowers, simply bursting from the glass. On the palate, the wine is intense, yet surprisingly soft, hiding its acidity with a layered impression of finesse. Throughout the long finish, the clean, bright personality of the wine really shines.
