2013 Kashaya Pinot Noir

2013 offered the most rewarding opportunities for this site that we have seen since 2009. As the farming is now really dialed in, we are finding we can pick this site earlier with the same level of phenolic ripeness, leading to more vibrant wines with more grace, yet still with great depth and richness. Aromas of bright cherry, wintergreen, clove, wet stone, white flowers and cinnamon hang above the glass. The mouthfeel is finesse-driven and lithe with extremely fine-grained tannins allowing the classic cool-climate flavors to blossom.

  • 100% Pinot Noir
  • Dijon Clones 115, Old Wente and Pommard
  • 35% shole cluster fermentation
  • Native yeast fermentation
  • 385 cases from 16 barrels

Reviews
Relic's 2013 Pinot Noir Kashaya presents a decidedly juicy, extroverted side of the Sonoma Coast. Sweet red cherry, plum, cinnamon, mint and spice notes abound. Drink this racy, fruit-driven Pinot over the next handful of years.
